TEAMWorks Ukraine - Tuesday July 9th

Day 2 at the orphanage was another luggage-less day. Unfortunately, we have yet to receive our luggage although did get confirmation that it arrived in Kiev. We would love to have our equipment but feel like God has given us this opportunity to guide us to communicate more with the caregivers and therapists and teach how to help these children even with limited resources.

This morning we again met with therapists and medical staff to make recommendations for specific children. We even had the privilege of meeting with a mother and her child. Everyone was very receptive and eager to learn. We were pleased to find that many of the children that the therapists were bringing to us for recommendations were a good mix of orphans and children with parents.

The afternoon was spent going back to rooms we had seen yesterday as well as a few new rooms. We were able to follow up with nearly all of the children that had been seen on previous trips as well as meet some new children.  We loved seeing all of the goals from the previous trips still posted on the walls above the kids and it was encouraging to see many of caregivers remembering and attempting to follow the recommendations from last year!

Tomorrow Christina plans to get in the pool and we hope to revisit a feeding situation that we started a conversation about on Monday.  Prayers for creativity and good conversations since luggage is unlikely.
